Website accessibility
We are committed to making the website www.bandasarabanda.it accessible to the widest possible audience, whatever technology they use and whatever their abilities.
Goal
The website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the international reference standard for web accessibility.
Features
- Structure: semantic HTML, headings in order, page regions that assistive technologies can recognize and a “Skip to content” link at the start of every page.
- Keyboard: the whole website can be used with the keyboard alone, with the active element always visible; videos and galleries open in dialogs that close with Esc.
- Alternative text: every photo has a description.
- Readability: dark text on a light background, with checked contrast; pages adapt to 320-pixel screens and to browser zoom.
- Motion: with the system’s “reduce motion” setting, animations stop.
- Without JavaScript: pages remain readable; videos open on YouTube and photos open full size.
How we check it
Every time the website changes, an automated check (axe) tests the WCAG 2.1 AA criteria on every type of page, in the Chromium, WebKit and Firefox browsers, together with keyboard navigation and layout checks.
Known limits
- The video player is YouTube’s: its accessibility depends on YouTube.
- The videos are musical performances and have no captions.
- On phones, some tables in the articles scroll sideways within their frame.
Feedback
Despite our efforts, some elements may not work perfectly. If you find an accessibility problem or have a suggestion, write to us at info@bandasarabanda.it: we will reply as soon as possible.
